Community Housing Rocks Out With 1980’s Party

Thanks to Basket Auction funds, Empower’s Community Housing division threw an awesome 1980’s-themed party for residents. People came in costume and got outside to enjoy the beautiful weather.  Special thanks to Community Housing staff and the Basket Auction committee for making this special event possible.

Lynn Gleason Receives Person of the Year Award at Internal Awards Dinner

Lynn Gleason, who lives at Empower’s Page Avenue home, was honored as the 2018 Person of the Year.  Lynn is a strong advocate for herself and others.  She is not afraid to go against the consensus and make choices that she feels are best for her.  Further, she is vocal about being treated with dignity, fairness and respect, helping those with whom she interacts to be mindful of others’ perspectives and situations.  She sets a great example for all, and Empower is proud to recognize Lynn with this honor.  Congratulations.

Empower Houses Show Their Halloween Spirit

Every year, Empower residences compete for the title of scariest house.  Niagara and Hoover houses were announced as the contest winners at the Spooktacular party, which was held on Saturday, October 27 at Niagara Active Hose.  A lot of work goes into these hauntingly-good displays which bring so much joy to the residents and neighbors.  Kudos to Community Housing staff for their hard work on this initiative.
