26th Annual Matthew J. Murphy, Jr. Drive Fore Empower Golf Tournament A Great Success

A few downpours did not dampen spirits as golfers gathered at the Niagara Frontier Country Club for the 26th Annual Matthew J.Murphy, Jr. Memorial Drive Fore Empower golf tournament on Monday, June 18.  A record number of sponsors combined with a golf challenge featuring Buffalo Sabres alum Darryl Shannon and the traditional live auction ensured that the event was a huge success, netting almost $30,000 for programs and services that support people with intellectual or developmental disabilities.  A special thank you to everyone who attended and to the following contributors and sponsors: Buffalo Sabres, John Murphy, Keith Radford, Parkview Health Services, Crown Benefits Group, Inc., KeyBank, Accessium Group, The Evans Agency, Bond Schoeneck & King, Rotary Club Niagara County Central, AmerisourceBergen, Integrity Auto Service, and MacKenzie’s Automotive & Performance Center.

Her work most recently won NPR Music’s 2016 Tiny Desk Contest, a competition drawing submissions of original songs from more than 6,000 musicians across the country. Ms. Lea also is a disability rights advocate, and will be answering questions on this subject after her performance.
