Saying Goodbye to Ms. Sherri, Director of Empower Children’s Academy
On April 5, we said goodbye to Director of Empower Children’s Academy Sherri Kaminski who retired after thirty-nine years with the agency. Sherri is a fun and positive person who is always striving to improve herself and Empower’s educational programming. Under her leadership, Empower expanded its enrollment to include typically developing children and added before- and after-school care to help working families. Ms. Sherri helped thousands of children to live their best lives, and we thank her for her service and inspiration.
Fourth Annual Art Show: Inspired by Eric Carle
The fourth annual art show did its best to herald in spring despite below average outside temperatures. Students showcased their artistic talents guided by the stories of author and illustrator Eric Carle on Wednesday, May 15 at the school. Over 140 families and students gathered to celebrate students’ wonderful creations. Congratulations students and staff on your hard work, and uplifting displays.

At Empower Children’s Academy, our teachers and teacher’s aides are the souls of our school, inspiring our children to learn and teaching them fundamentals they need to be successful throughout their lives. Thank you, teachers, for all that you do.
Sax Man Slim Visits
Thanks to support from the Elks Lockport Lodge #41, Children’s Academy students were treated to some fun jazzy music, including Hokey Pokey and Mickey Mouse Fun House. Some just listened while others danced their cares away.
